India, the second-most populated country, faces numerous environmental issues, such as air and water pollution, waste management, biodiversity loss, land degradation, and deforestation. Nearly 25% of total land being forests, the country faces challenges preserving biodiversity.
THE PEOPLE TRUST (MAKKAL ARAKKATTALAI) support initiatives to protect the environment. It is a simple yet powerful way to nurture a children and youths environmentally conscious citizens, they will advocate for a greener future.
We Nurture a love for nature among children by teaching them the importance of trees and their role in maintaining ecological balance. We encourage tree plantation activities to create a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Empowering children and youths to take ownership of the gardens by allowing them to plan, design, and maintain the garden spaces. We provide hands-on gardening experience, teaching them sustainable practices such as composting and water conservation. We do conduct informative sessions and workshops to educate communities about the alternatives to plastics.
