“THE PEOPLE TRUST” –“MAKKAL ARAKKATTALAI” (மக்கள் அறக்கட்டளை) is a public charitable trust, NGO, social service and caregiving organization dedicated to improving the livelihoods of the underprivileged people in the villages in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu.
Although we live in a modern world and enjoy many privileges, there are still people in some corners who live in helpless situations. It is unfortunate that they lack access to basic needs and often do not know how to obtain them. Children, women, and the elderly are particularly vulnerable, marginalized, and largely neglected. Furthermore, many elderly individuals are left alone, fighting isolation without any caregivers.
Driven by a shared vision, a group of professionals has founded the nonprofit public charitable trust “MAKKAL ARAKKATTALAI” (THE PEOPLE TRUST). We are committed to creating social awareness and supporting the basic needs of the unprivileged, vulnerable, marginalized, and neglected members of society.
MAKKAL ARAKKATTALAI is a charitable organization dedicated to helping children and elders. We strive to improve livelihoods, empowering individuals to become self-reliant in a competitive world. Our social welfare programs in Tirunelveli focus on childcare, eldercare, women’s empowerment, youth development, health awareness, livelihood enhancement, environmental protection, and sports. These initiatives thrive through active community engagement, volunteer participation, and the generous support of donors.
MAKKAL TRUST is a community welfare trust in Tamil Nadu promoting environmental sustainability. We equip communities with the skills needed to conserve natural resources and inspire them to protect the environment for future generations.

நாம் நவீன உலகில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டு, அனைத்து உலக வசதிகளையும் அனுபவித்து வருகிறோம், ஆனால் ஏதோ ஒரு மூலையில், ஆதரவற்ற சூழ்நிலைகளில் இன்னும் வசதியற்ற மக்கள் வாழ்கின்றனர். இவர்களுக்கு அடிப்படைத் தேவைகள் கூட கிடைக்காமல் இருப்பதும், அடிப்படைத் தேவைகளை எப்படிப் பெறுவது என்று தெரியாமல் இருப்பது மிகவும் வருந்தத்தக்கது. குழந்தைகள், பெண்கள் மற்றும் முதியவர்களின் உணர்வுகள் புறக்கணிக்க பட்டு சமூகத்தால் தனிமையில் விடப்பட்டுள்ளனர், அவர்கள் தனிமையில் போராடுகிறார்கள், அவர்களில் பலர் சமூகத்தால் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக உள்ளார்கள்.
அறக்கட்டளை நிறுவனர்கள், பல்வேறு பின்னணியில் இருந்து வந்த தொழில் வல்லுநர்கள். சமூகத்தால், ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட மற்றும் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்ட நலிவடைந்த, மக்களுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தி அடிப்படைத் தேவைகளை வழங்குவதில் பங்கு வகிக்கும் உன்னத நோக்கத்துடன் “மக்கள்” என்ற பெயரில் இந்த அறக்கட்டளையைத் தொடங்கியுள்ளோம். “மக்கள் அறக்கட்டளை” மக்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கும், இந்த உலகில் தங்களைத் தாங்களே எவ்வாறு நிலைநிறுத்துவது என்றும் அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கிறது.
பூமியை பாதுகாப்பதில் மக்கள் முக்கிய அங்கமாக இருக்கிறார்கள். எனவே, தாய் பூமியின் அரிய வளங்களைப் பாதுகாக்க உதவும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் நிலைத்தன்மைக் கொள்கைகள் மற்றும் திறன்களை மக்களுக்கு கற்று கொடுக்கிறோம். அரிய வளங்களை அடுத்த தலைமுறைகளுக்கு எப்படிக் ஒப்படைப்பது என்பதை உணரச் செய்கிறோம்.

Identify needy children, nurture them, provide financial support for their education, guide their personal growth and wellbeing, and support them until they become independent.
Eldercare Programme/முதியோர் பராமரிப்புத் திட்டம்
Ensures elder’s dignity, safety, and quality of life. Elderhome care facility provides social security, healthcare, homecare and prioritizes quality of care, active aging and ensures fulfilling life.
Environment Protection Programme/சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்புத் திட்டம்
Inculcate environmental sustainability principles and skills among children, youth and elders to conserve the limited resources of mother earth.
Health Awareness Programme/சுகாதார விழிப்புணர்வுத் திட்டம்
Aims to improve public health through education and organises health, eye screening and blood donation camps, child nutrition and training on First Aid and CPR.
Livelihood Programme/வாழ்வாதார உதவித் திட்டம்
Focuses on skill development, entrepreneurship. Key training programmes includes organic farming, livestock farming. handicrafts, plumbing, electrician, painting, welding, masonry and tiling works.
Social Awareness Programme/சமூக விழிப்புணர்வுத் திட்டம்
It creates awareness through workshops and mentorship programs. It offers programs dealing with harassment, empowering individuals to recognize abuse, seek help, and know their legal rights.
Sports and Wellness Programme/விளையாட்டு மற்றும் நல்வாழ்வுத் திட்டம்
Encourages children and youth to engage in physical activities and lead healthier lives. It develops discipline, teamwork, and a sense of achievement among children and youth.
Women Empowerment Programme/பெண்கள் மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டம்
Focuses on economic, social, and educational advancement through job training and employment opportunities. It will enhance employability, provide mentorship, and promote leadership for women.
Youth Development Programme/இளைஞர் மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டம்
Empower young people to build competencies, resilience, and essential skills through education and community engagement, helping them achieve their dreams and become confident individuals.
